– Hello, thanks for asnwering to our questions. To start, what’s «Black N’ Blue»? I mean, how did you come up with that name and what’s that two colored «thing»?

When you get punched in the face…the bruise is Black N Blue…thats the mark we leave!

– And, of course, how does it feel having a new album in your hands after all those years without releasing anything new under the BLACK N BLUE name?

It’s awesome! we feel great about the new CD and it’s nice to be back

– Did you ever really split-up after releasing «In the Heat»?

Yes we did. We got together in the 90’s for one night to record the live CD but did not get back together officialy until 2003

– And what prompted that «come back» in 2003?

I got a solo deal andI asked the guys to do a BNB record instead and they said HELL YEAH!

– If I’m not wrong, was back then when you started recording this brand new «Hell Yeah». Why did it take you so long?

We lost the studio we started with, I joined Warrant for 4 years, we changed record labels

– Your previous studio album came out in 1988 so, what are your fans going to find new in your latest record?

One of our best records! We still sound like BNB…it’s hard not to

– And how has the Rock scene and also it’s business side has changed since then? All the internet thing, etc.

It’s a different world with all the free downloads but thats no reason to stop creating killer new music…it’s in our blood.

– The first thing I noticed was you’re using again your old logo so, does this mean you are poviding with «Hell Yeah» a sound similar to your first piece?

Yes we wanted to bring back the original logo all shined up! It makes sense and represents that we are sticking to our roots.

– Though I think the album sounds as a mix between all your previous records, it has a heavier general sound. Have you opened to new influences or adapted to new sounds during these last years?

We just wanted to do the best record we could and stick with the BNB sound. After so many years there must be some new influences but nothing intentional.

– Why couldn’ Tommy Thayer be in the album? As there are several rumours about this, though I guess KISS has soemthing to do with this?

Yes he is in KISS and they have a lock on him

– I must admit one of the tracks that caught my attention off the album actually was «Jaime got a Beer». What could you explain us about it?

I didn’t write it and I wasn’t even there when they recorded it. They told me they made it up when we were at Jef’s house writing and I went to get some beer for us but never came back because I hooked up with some girl…sounds like me!

– Also tracks as «Hail Hail» really stand out, this one is such a catchy hit. Did you know how you wanted these songs to sound like since the beginning?

Yes we are very clear on how we wanted the songs to sound and feel

– The record has been produced by a band member himself, how does this benefit you? I mean, I guess no one knows better that an «insider» what’s the BLACK N BLUE sound about…

Yeah we really didn’t need anybody to tell us what to do…just good engineers. After 30 years we have it down.

– I read this work was at first going to be a solo album; what differences a BLACK N BLUE album from a solo album?

A BNB record is much more important than a Jaime St James solo record…ity’s that simple

– Afrer this «comeback album», what can we expect from you from now on? Have you come back to stay?

We love being back together and will do more new music and shows when we can.

– And finally, what are your near-future plans? Do you plan play some gigs or even touring?

We are booking shows in the U.S. and are hoping we can come to Europe at some point

– That’s all, thanks once more your time. Feel free to add any final words to our readers.

Thanks to everyone who has supported Black N Blur all these years and to any new fans we can gather up from this new CD…It Kicks ass! HELL YEAH!
