– First off, how has been this, somehow, comeback with DECAPITATED?
Its great,i feel so much power because of comeback..Good to be on stage again.Of course its not same without Witek and Covan but i cannot do anything about that.It makes me sad and pissed of in sametime,but i need to play and continue this trip with metal.2010 was very hard and stressful time in last year.Imagine comeback with total new line up…but I think fans totally understand our situation and they know what was happend for the band and thats why most of fans were more that support for this comeback.Of course we had to prove that is has a sense to continue this band with new face but I 
think we did it well.Everyone from new members are 100percent what I was looking for.They are great musicians and they know what to do it on stage.We did about 100shows till comeback and most of them was great.So big thanks for understandingand support new decapitated line up guys!!
– «Carnival is Forever» will be your awaited new album, it will come out later this month. What are your expectations? And well, I guess you have already heard some feedback from the press; how has it been so far?
Its always the same-some people like it some people hate but mostly what i can see Its a great feedback.Really,i saw so many good reviews and heard lots of good words about new shit.We are all so happy about this album,production and i hope next 2 years will be full of great tours and festivals.
– To start getting a bit into it; why «Carnival is Forever»? What’s 
hidden behind this tittle?
«Carnival» in ironic way means all shit what people do all the time.People destroy themselve in the name of some bulshit.Carnival you can see all the time and in the past and this will not change in the future.Its dancing on graves.People =shit
Jarek Szubrycht- the author of the title and all lyrics simply wanted to write powerful and honest lyrics that would form the unity with the band’s new music. And I strongly believe it has been achieved.
Also, what we’ve surely managed to achieve was provoking emotions. We have been reading comments on the Internet from some of the fans of extreme metal cursing the band for the use of the word ‘carnival’ in the new album’s title.
I had no idea that a carnival would be associated by all those grim, fearsome quasi-individualists with having a good time, enjoying yourself and joy.
For me, on the contrary, the enforcement of mass euphoria, rowdy and insincere felicity, entertainment, happiness and a brainless mob constitute a major fear. And this is how I perceive the carnival. It is as oddly disconcerting as the clown with his costume and make-up. There is a good reason why the horror directors have repeatedly been using this character in 
their movies.
Obviously it doesn’t change the fact that the title is ironic. The carnival is the name given by Jarek to the perennial human dancing on the grave (by the way, do you think the Medieval idea of danse macabre is not metal enough?), heading for the self-annihilation with a stupid grin and lofty slogans. All the history of human species resembles a mindless jiggling of drunk mob – we can’t draw any conclusions from the past, we can’t impede the autodestructive behaviours, we know only how to mask them (the mask – the carnival – is it clear?) with the help of conventions, culture, politics … ‘Carnival is Forever’ is not even about the downfall of the human kind because if one never rises one will never fall.
There’s no ideology behind the lyrics of ‘Carnival is Forever.’ They don’t intend to persuade you to anything, they don’t offer any ready solutions and don’t encourage a revolution, they make no pretence that ‘they’ suck and ‘we’ know better. They are not against religion, evil, war, politics, media – but at the same time they question all of them. They question the meaning of this world and our allleged role in it. IWe shouldn’t really explain it because Jarek wrote down all : ‘World owes you nothing/ Promised you nothing/ Don’t fight, don’t fear/ Grow up before you grow old.’
So if you’re looking for a vent to
the herd instinct, if you want to brandish your sword, if you like to take it out on a real or imagined enemy by spitting on them – you won’t find anything for you here. Exactly – nothing! The key word to the understanding of ‘Carnival is Forever’. These lyrics contain no hatred, no blasphemy, no misanthropy. There’s fear and scorn. There’s doubt. There’s hopelessness. Even lack of hope for the hope itself. There’s just mud and some plastic bags. Nihilism. And so, after all, the Internet crowd was right. In a sense these lyrics are about nothing:)
– And how could you describe the album in a few words?
Mature,strong,good sonding album.Lots of new things i never play before-clean chanel guitars,live kick drums.
– This is your first album with Nuclear Blast after leaving Earache. What prompted that move? Are you satisfied with the work done so far by a such big label?
Yes im satisfy about this new cooperation.We did 4 albums for earache so we 
meet up from deal.Nuclear blast were interested about decapitated since long time and after we finish with earache we signed a demo deal with them.Nuclear Blast is the biggest metal label right now and they are very proffesional.I can see how they support us right now and it looks very promissing for the band.We will see how cooperation will be look in future and them I will tell you more but as I said right now its all good beetwen us and nb. I know some guys from Nuclear Blast since some time and i know they really want us in a team.This label is very professional and i know that is the best for us right now for sure.They give us good deal and they are cool metal heads:)
– How has been this time the songwriting for the record? I mean, you were a band that released a new album regularly, but since your preious album have been 5 years now…
Yeah its 5 years.We had a break
– And I would like you to tell us a bit more about the creation process of the album, as for example who wrote the lyrics, how 
handled production/mixing duties, etc.
Sure.Im a main composer.I create all riffs,solos bass and i arrange vocals and some drum parts.Some drum parts are made by a new drummer Krimh.Importent thing is that new somgs have ideas from past create by me and Witek.Almost every song on Carival has some riffs from 2006 and 2007.Im a producer of this album,sound eengenier is Arkadiusz «Malta»Malczewski and Daniel Bergstrand make mix.We create great team in y opinion and album sonds killer.Author of lyricks came from Poland and hes name is Jaroslaw Szubrycht.He is my friend from band Lux Occulta,and i very like his style.Nobody from band can do good lyricks so we decided to ask Jarek about that.Cover art and l layout is made by Lukasz Jaszak
– I read the album’s special edition will also contian a DVD. What are we going to find on this DVD? And was this your decision?
Yes it was our decision to make this dvd and special edition.Its very nice looking edition with slip case and second bookled with pictures from studio.On dvd you can see our work in the studio and a couple stupid jokes.
– Before the accident DECAPITATED had an stable line-up and you guys knew for a long time. Now you have a new line-up, did you get used to it easily?
no,hell fucking no man.It was and it is very hard to me.I play with my brother since we wre a kids and also i like covan so much and it was very difficult to see new faces in a band and heard diffrent sound.I have a war with myself to find a peace about all this shit what happend.But i understand everything what happend and im thankfull for this what i have.And thats why i tracting new members with respect.
– After Vitek passed away it seems has been some people hasn’t understand yet lifes goes on. What made you keep on going with DECAPITATED?
I dont care wht people think.I decide to continue thie band bacuse it only thing in my life what i have.And its the best thing what happend to me.Also i know that Witek will kick my ass if i will not continue our trip.
– Most people are also concerned about the Covans’s state. How is he doing lately?

– The band started being really young; did you ever thought you would ever get where you are today?
Not at all.I never thoght that decap will came on this level. If you really want to do something,but REALLY want… than is no barriers to achive your dreams.Its all about practising and belive.And about no bulshit.
– What were both back then and nowadays your main musical influences?
To may to say-really-i can just say that im the most open minded musician on the world:)
– Polish Metal scene is really huge now, and it seems to be growing each day with stablished bands as yourself, VADER or BEHEMOTH or less-known acts as FURIA, PANDEMONIUM, etc. What bands else could you suggest?
Yes thats true that Poland have so many extreme bands.Also we have so many good bands not that much extreme but very very good like Blindead-they play little like neurosis style but they very interesting and also Acid Drinkers-one of my best band ever,this is a thrash rock and roll metal band and they are very famous in poland and are fuckin great-check their last album»fishdick 2″ -amazing.I think Scene condition is ok right now,so many bands and people are doing great job.
– Finally, what are your near-future plans? I saw you will play some summer festivals, but are there any touring plans after them?
Yes we will play on summer festivals and also we will do a balkan tour in september including shows in Greece,october-us tour with decrepit birth and flashgod apocalypse,than europe tour-about 30 shows and than uk tour on beginning of next year….will be alot,check our myspace 🙂
