1- Hello, thanks for answering to our questions. What are you guys currently up to?
Hey, right now I’m drinking coffee and eating Kale. My hip is sore and I’m waiting for UFC 205 to start. Its a beautiful day in Oakland, CA. Last month I recorded the Vietnamm EP with Zack Ohren in three days span. In August I went on tour in Europe with Merdumgiriz records, played Turkey, Ukraine among other countries. Also, I got laid off from my day job almost a month ago, so there’s that. I’m drinking coffee and eating Kale.

2- First off, could you make some history of the band?
In summary, yeah, I started playing and writing songs in bands in the bay area around 17 years old in 2007. Lots of bands – lots of trials, errors and a few years later, I started a group called Survival in 2009. It was an ugly time of my life (band members came and went, one actually passed away, scenes changed, etc) and while no one was really invested in the project, I knew it was all I could do for myself. Like, I couldn’t kick myself out of my own fucking band, you know? So I stayed writing songs under that moniker and as time moved on, reformed the band: that saw the «Love God» and «Unity» era of Survival and we played some shows up and down California, put out a record. Now, its 2016 and for the last two years or so (Survival «Shayda» and «No Grief») the guys I play with aren’t really interested in continuing to do it, or available to, which I get. «Vietnamm» is the same format of song writing and recording for me that I’m familiar with, just not calling it a Survival release. There you go.

3- How could you describe your sound?
Theres been a lot of twists and turns and experimentation. Right now it sounds like punk/hardcore influenced rock n roll, even alternative sound. I’m also recording a more glitch sounding thing today. Good shit. Real shit.

4- What are the band’s main musical influences?
#1 influence is GOD, Jesus Christ, our lord Saviour. Nah, I’m kidding, main musical influence is probably punching a bag late at night to Terror’s «Lowest of the Low,» Verbal Abuse S/T, Exodus, Excel, The BRATS!! Breakdown – real shit.

5- How is the feedback for your new album being?
My close friends literally didn’t notice that I made another record. Thats a good thing. My internet friends seem to be stoked.

6- And are your personally satisfied with the final outcome?
Yeah, Zack Ohren is a gemini wizard and I’m mental.

7- How could you describe this opus in just 3 words?
Nick Noro – Vietnamm

8- How has the production process for your new release been?
This one got produced fast. The songs were written months before actually recording them. Plus I made some home recordings before going into record noro-vietnammwith Ohren. But them I change lots of stuff around last minute. If I’m producing something at home, I can afford to take more liberties with time.

9- And how do you use to work on the songwriting?
Come up with something, record it. Listen to it. Change it. It’s kind of always like that for me.

10 – Finally, what are you near-future plans?
I’m planning on going back to tour Europe again next year: London, Turkey, Ukraine and probably Belgium with Merdumgiriz records. We did it in August and it worked. So, I’m gonna be patient and see what this new year brings, right.

11- That’s all from our side, thanks again for taking your time to answer our questions. If you now want to add some final words; feel free to do it.
