– Hello, thanks for answering to our questions. What are you currently up to?

Hi, currently we rehearsing as hell, getting ready for live performance, as also we keep transforming another 6 songs for next album.

– You will soon release your debut album so; could you please share some history of the band?

We start few years back, i think around 2007,me and T.Slutsodomizer left Adorior by then and focus on new project that later transform into Lvcifyre. In 2008 we record our first demo/EP “Dying Light Ov God” that been released by Swedish Blood Harvest, soon after that whole line up change, i meet Menthor from Corpus Christi and together we start writing process of “The Calling Depths” that been recorded in 2010 in Factory Studio in Poland.

– Though you were formed just a few years ago, you have already experienced some line-up changes; has this affected the band in any way?

Affected in positive aspects of transformation only, it is very hard to get right personalities, that could understand and see what Lvcifyre is, but as it meant to be we going in predict direction.

I’m the only one remaining from original line up.

Thinking about that these days actually i had quite few members already from great bands.

Witchmaster,Adorior, Razor of Occam, The One, Corpus Christi, Necrosadist just to name few.

– In fact you were formed in 2007, released an EP in 2009 and now your first full-length piece. In these tough years for the music industry; has been easy to get signed and releasing your debut opus?

Tough is the right word, it is not easy ,tons of emails and empty expectations, If labels wont smell the money on your sweat you will be simply ignored which is make sense. The problem is laying in amount of bands and shity and amateur music they create, most of them bring nothing, wasted energy.

Likely we stayed in Blood Harvest, Rodrigo is doing good job and he is the man of his word. Pulverized with a delay manage to release CD version. We could only be happy that is finally out. In fact album been complete and handled to the labels in September 2010,

– Why did you pick the name «Lvcifyre»? Both its origin and meaning.

It is related with myth of Lucifer and inner fire. It is the formula of progress, transformation towards higher self. Awakening of primordial darkness.

– As I said you have now released your first album, «The Calling Depths», which has just reached Europe. How has been its feedback?

To be honest good but not numerous, as i mention album came out with a big delay and we sort of loose excitement, still happy to be out don’t get me wrong, just this first fire sort of burnt down during long waiting for release.

Our friends love it, but we have to wait a bit longer since CD is out from few weeks only.

– I could say the main element in your sound is relentless brutality, though you have managed to add the necessary melody and certain sophistication as well, showing a straight-forward but well-cared songwriting. Is this balance something easy to get?

Not at all, whole life of riffs crafting and songs writing, the will power is the only friend on this level and there is only one rule – you have to be totally honest with your creation.

– I also noticed some inspiration from American Death Metal, though there are several Black Metal elements so, how could you describe your sound?

I could described as sonic representation of wrathful depths. Death Metal for sure, maybe some small elements of Black Metal in few moments. Lots of people are comparing us with early Morbid Angel, Immolation, well let it be. To be honest i cannot hear it but i’m not the one to judge.

– And what are the band’s main musical influences? Has the experience with bands as ADORIOR influenced you as well for LVCIFYRE?

As a musician I’m transforming and shaping my vision, all bands i been involved into change me for sure, i took something i gave something instead.

I like Mercyful Fate, Kat, Bathory, old Deicide ,old Slayer, Morbid Angel, Nasty Savage, GGFH, Lustmord, Incantation, Profanatica, Immolation, Deathspell Omega, Funeral Mist, early Norwegian scene just to name few.

Adorior is one of the best bands on this planet for sure. Hail you cunts!

– I noticed those BM elements specially on guitars (in fact there are some really interesting riffs and this album is pretty guitar driven); how do you approach your guitar work and what artists have influenced your playing style?

Hmm…,it must be Trey Azagtoth, early work of Hoffamans brothers, “Deicide” and “Legion” are so fucking evil! Euronymus did killer job on”De Mysteries…”,Sarcofago on “The Laws of Scourge” got totally killer riffs as well.

I’m trying to play as often as i can, but i reach the point where my creative fuel is freeze and riffs become empty, need to let go a bit and put guitar away on some time, play on rehearsals only. Constantly screaming inner fire want me to play all the time so balance is required, otherwise it will destroy you.

– And what about the vocals? Those incredibly low growls assumed me, and so it did they way they fit the music.

Thanks, vocals always bring whole new horizon to the song. I want them to sound low and wrathful, then again it take me some time before i reach the required depth level, warm up is necessary and time in depth limited so it must be scheduled smartly.

– Dark and evil atmospheres and general feeling seem to be important as well but, is it something spontaneous?

More natural than spontaneous, once you achieve required level, moment of connection between man and his higher self, then primordial matter is transmitted it.

– As I said, your music seems to be simple and straight forward but underneath it shows its quite elaborated as well so, how was the songwriting process like?

I write a riff, i can hear drum beats already playing along with it in my head, I’m designing the drums in more simple structure, programmed in Cubase with drummer from hell software, then I’m taking files to Menthor place, where we got set studio for rehearsing and recording and we start polishing bit by bit. He is quite often changing lots of details on drums and give lots of good ideas about riffs and whole atmosphere. Sometimes we don’t like and its ending up in the bin.

But we always put massive input into it and finall version is devastating.

At the moment we got 2 new songs done and core done for another 6.

– Something that caught my attention was the cover artwork, crafted by Alexander L. Brown. Would you mind to shed some light on it and what do you want to express with it?

We swap quite few emails with Alexander before it took flesh. Artwork represent Tiamat, The Great Dragon of the depths. Based on Chaos star on which rays black waters waves of creation drifting into darkness of universe. Egg represent primordial man, the symbol of Kundalini, The Serpent Fire. The egg is cracking and primitive will is released to reach divine state and be reborn in darkness.

– If you don’t mind, I would also like you to elaborate a bit on what do the lyrics deal with.

Mostly with subjects mention above, lots of them based on dream work, Ancient Ones and rites of darkness, Babylonian myths related with Tiamat, fornication with succubi, self-awareness and self-mastery,.

– I read you recorded, mixed and mastered the album in Poland; what was the main reason for that? Considering you are based in London, didn’t you find the right place for what you were striving for near your area?

I cannot remember anything i liked that been recorded in UK lately. We were looking for producer that didn’t fall into that new fake and unnatural, compressed sound. We want to sound natural, massive and organic as true music is. We heard about Janusz Bryt and we now that he works with big names, WASP, Destruction, Behemoth just to name few, we meet him on tour with Suffocation talk about our vision and sound we looking for, he is totally cool guy, he clicks on straight away and we set a recording session for “The Calling Depths”.

– Finally, what are your near-future plans? After such abrilliant first release, how does future look like for LVCIFYRE?

Our vision is very clear, worst with making it real ha,ha.

We want to play live and infect the masses, fests will be the best in this option, move it to another level soon after, start making enough money to be able live from it so we could focus on Lvcifyre only, quite often i hear that our music is to heavy and people just don’t get it, unless they spend enough amount of time before they click on and then its destroyed them.

In next year Autumn we planning to record second album.

– That has been everything from my side, thanks once more for taking the time. If you now want to add some final words; last lines are all yours.

Thanks for support, we hope to invade Spain for live rituals and unleashed the Primordial Darkness on your soil.

Salute Maniacs!
