BLOOD OF THE WOLF (EN)
1- Hello, thanks for answering to our questions. What are you guys currently up to?
Right now we’re just rehearsing, working on new songs and getting tighter as a band.
2- First off, could you make some history of the band?
The band started in 2012 as a project of mine while I was playing guitar in Kommandant. We became a live band in 2013. We had a few member changes since then. As of right now the line-up is myself, Mike Koniglio, on guitar and vocals, Frank Garcia on guitar and vocals, Brandon Waszak on bass and Max Colunga on drums. We play blackened death metal with a lot of blasting and a heavy dose of melody.
3- How could you describe your sound?
I would describe it as blackened death metal with a lot of blasting and a lot of melody. I would say the writing style is akin to late 90’s/early 2000’s aggressive black metal. There is a lot of fast paced tremolo picking, dual guitar harmonies and melodies, and blast beats. Lots of blast beats.
4- What are the band’s main musical influences?
I love Vader, Marduk, Belphegor, God Dethroned, and Infernal War. I would say those bands have had a great influence on my writing style. Currently I am really enjoying the new Temple of Baal album “Mysterium” and Malevolent Creation’s “Dead Man’s Path”.
5- How is the feedback for your new album being?
So far it’s been all positive. We’ve had a couple 10/10 reviews which feels good of course.
6- And are your personally satisfied with the final outcome?
Yes, very satisfied. Of all the albums I’ve worked on, this one has come out the best!
7- How could you describe this opus in just 3 words?
Crush, kill, destroy.
8- How has the production process for your new release been?
Working with Joe Tiberi is always a pleasure. He works fast and does a great job. Recording, mixing and mastering was the easy part (I like being in the studio). We had some trouble with the CD duplication company and won’t be using them again, but other than that it was pretty smooth.
9- And how do you use to work on the songwriting?
I write the songs at home on my computer using a variety of music production programs then show them to the guys in the band. I usually come up with some riffs first then add drums, bass and vocals. Technology plays a big part in the song creation. It has been a great tool!
10 – Finally, what are you near-future plans?
We plan to play more shows with bigger bands, play out of state and just get tighter as a band. We also plan to develop our live show a little more. Many songs have been written towards a new album already.
11- That’s all from our side, thanks again for taking your time to answer our questions. If you now want to add some final words; feel free to do it.
Thanks for your support and thank you for the interview!
