1- Hello, thanks for answering to our questions. What are you guys currently up to?
Playing shows when we can, busting our asses to get new songs done, and finishing out the year strong. Then hopefully some short regional runs in cities we haven’t played yet , spreading the word about our debut album «Damnation Doctrine». We’re also in the process of writing our next album. Things seem like they’re evolving and are coming along well; we’re pretty excited about the new stuff.

2- First off, could you make some history of the band?
It started in 2011 as a 3 piece with Kevin, Adam, and our original bassist. Brent joined in 2012 as well as Zach in September of that year. We then worked on getting enough ready to open some local Raleigh gigs, playing our first show in July 2013. Later that year we recorded a 3 track demo and shortly after that our bassist stepped down. Matt joined in March of 2014 and since then it’s been writing new stuff, practice, and play shows whenever we can.

3- How could you describe your sound?
That’s a hard question to answer we like to think we’ve got something unique since all of us approach each song in slightly Woods logo band photodifferent ways having different musical backgrounds and tastes. But if we had to sum it up it would be Melodic Death with a hint of Thrash, with equal emphasis on both death and melody. No clean vocals, no electronics, no breackdowns, and a complete disregard for current trends.

4- What are the band’s main musical influences?
We’ve all been metalheads for awhile, influenced by pretty much all styles: classic Swedish bands like ATG, old In Flames, Centinex , Dismember, Gates of Ishtar, Dissection,  and Amon Amarth; more techy stuff like Death, Decrepit Birth, and Obscura; also stuff like TBDM, Soilwork, and Arch Enemy  and a whole shit ton of others . This list would be immense if we all divulged our individual influences.

5- How is the feedback for your new album being?
Surprisingly good, with mostly local exposure. We’ll be branching out and playing other states in our region in the near future. It’s been really positive though, we’ve seen comments about the «surprising level of maturity» for a debut album (though maybe that’s just a nice way of saying we’re old hahaha). But you can’t please everyone, we’re looking at you Russian torrent site message board, you  guys are brutal \\m//.

6- And are your personally satisfied with the final outcome?
Jamie King is a master at what he does and we’re absolutely blown away with the final outcome. Then again, it’s also our creation, so we’re just slightly biased.

7- How could you describe this opus in just 3 words?
Satanichrist ear-raping skullfuck or something along those lines.

8- How has the production process for your new release been?
It was a learning experience most definitely. Jamie made us work hard and he only accepted the best take, very professional. It was tough, but everything went smoothly, and we even managed to add a couple songs to the album without being strapped for time. All around, it was an awesome recording experience.

9- And how do you use to work on the songwriting?
Usually Kevin starts with some guitar riffs and once he has a solid idea he records a scratch track and sends it to everyone else. Brent and Matt learn the riffs while Zach starts writing lyrics. Then we play it together with Adam working out his drum parts until it takes shape then just tons of practice before we play it live. We also feel like its always a work in progress, a living, evolving, entity that can drastically change before being solidified in recording – also drink beer,  and smoke weed!!

10 – Finally, what are you near-future plans?
DSC_2169We just want to keep making and playing music that we enjoy, continue to spread the word about the album, play some new locales hopefully expanding our reach beyond the Carolinas, and world domination of course… Really though, honing our stagecraft to become better musicians and performers while having a blast is our top priority.

11- That’s all from our side, thanks again for taking your time to answer our questions. If you now want to add some final words; feel free to do it.
Thanks to everyone that’s checked us out and liked our music. We hope to play for you soon!
