RETORTION TERROR
1- Hello, thanks for answering to our questions. What are you guys currently up to?
RT: We are enjoying grindcore …having a rehearsal every weekend and having pleasure each time ,practicing our set or writing new songs, recording some tracks, performing live show ,having a beer or two.
Life is good.
2- First off, could you make some history of the band?
RT: (Nicholas) In June 2014, I was diagnosed with a cancer. I suddenly realized I could die much earlier than expected (I was 36). Luckily, I defeated this shit and I decided to do again what I love the most: playing grindcore. I asked for people in my small circle of friends on FB: Takafumi answered to me. It was a big surprise because I didn’t expected a response from him. I was beginning drums so I told him it could be boring for him to play with me. But he didn’t care. He was on recovery of his illness and wanted to play grindcore anyway. We both use grindcore as a «paramedical activity» hahaha.
3- How could you describe your sound?
RT: Pure grindcore.
4- What are the band’s main musical influences?
RT: Many bands
5- How has the feedback for your new album been?
RT: We don’t know.
6- And are you personally satisfied with the final outcome?
RT: Of course no.
7- How could you describe this opus in just 3 words?
RT: Never Give Up. Or Keep on Trying.
8- How was the production process for your new release?
RT: We were in contact with Matthias from Invidiosus. He made a lot of things for us. Big thanks to him and to HPGD prod.
9- And how does the songwriting process work?
RT: Nicholas plays blastbeat. Matsubara adds riffs.
10 – Finally, what are you near-future plans?
RT: Making splits with some great bands. Performing live show with good bands. Practicing.
11- That’s all from our side, thanks again for taking your time to answer our questions. If you now want to add some final words; feel free to do it.
Thank you very much!
