– Hi, thanks for your time. What are you currently up to? How is everything doing right now with BLOOD RED THRONE?

Just came home from tour and have a bunch of e-mails and interviews, hehe.

– Your latest album “Blood Red Throne” came out just a few weeks ago, how’s going its feedback and the reactions toward the album so far? And are you happy with the final outcome yourself?

There has only been great reviews of it and they keep coming. This is by far the best album we’ve done since Altered Genesis(2005) and it’s a great way to celebrate our 15th anniversary!

– Entitling the album as the band’s can be seen as a big and positive statement, is it actually so? Is what we find on «Blood Red Throne» your true identity or do you feel is the record describes the best what BLOOD RED THRONE is all about?

It’s our 15th anniversary, but I also had this idea of this bloody and mighty throne for the frontcover. There could be no other title than BloodRedThrone for this one!

– The cover artwork is also quite straight-forward and expressive, just featuring a Blood Red Throne. What did you want to depict with it?

Simply a manifestation of BloodRedThrone!

– This has been your first record with Bolt and Ole. I guess they haven’t been involved in the songwriting but, what have they brought to the band?

Bolt has a different and much more varied vocal than previous BRT singers. This has given the BRT sound a slightly new edge to it. But the music is still the same cause I write most of it anyway.

– Lyrically you still deal with dark and evil topics that seem to be real thoughts but, what were some of the sepcial subjects that inspired some of the lyrics on «Blood Red Throne»?

Bolt is inspired by all the madness in the world and tries to understand it and see it from the sick person’s point of view. But he also go with the music and gets inspired by the atmosphere.

– If I’m not mistaken this record has been produced and mastered by your bandmate in ZEROZONIC Martin Berger. Are you happy with the result obtained?

Hell yeah. That’s why we chose him. He’s extremely talented and I knew from other productions that he would find the perfect mix and production for us.

– You have done a video for «Primitive Killing Machine». How did the whole process go?

I pretty much wrote this song with the intention to make a music video for it. It’s straight forward and very groovy. The director had a lot of ideas and we found a great location and a great cast to make it all happen.

– And why did you pick doing a video for that song? I personally think is one of the catchiest on the album, and has a great groove as well.

Exactly. I wanted to have a straight forward song with a lot of groove to it.

– All this about «Blood Red Throne» being said; how could you describe it in just 3 words?

Fuckin’ death metal!

– This year is the band’s 15th anniversary so, do you plan doing anything special?

Indeed. We made a special limited box containing a red vinyl, t-shirt exclusively, signed poster, dog-tag, lighter and pick. We also just finished a headliner tour in Europe.

– And how do you think has the extreme Metal scene changed since you started? Internet for instance has had a huge impact on it I’d say.

Well, there are a zillion more bands these days for starters. This is both good and bad, but I guess you can’t stop it. Almost everybody plays in a band. I think internet is good. It’s possible to promote your band and keep contact with the scene.

– Finally; what are your near-future plans?

Next up are Protzen and Dokkem Open Air Festivals. Then we have a mini tour in the UK in July and fibnally another festival in Germany. We get offers constantly, so there will always be a show!

– That’s all, thank you once more for answering our questions. If you want to add some final words; feel free to do it.

Keep supporting metal and quality death metal from Norway!
