1-    Hello, thanks for answering to our questions. What are you guys currently up to?
We are in the middle of some craziness, man. So much stuff going on, many things to finish! We just finished the album layout for “Reflection” that’s coming out May 4th (save the date!) and we’re sending it out for pressing as we speak. We’re also in the last stage of production for our new video for the single “The Prince of the Power of the Air”; that’s coming out real nice too. Also, we have our album release show/party coming up may 8th too, and we’re promoting that a lot, printing flyers, posters, you name it. Can’t wait!

2- First off, could you make some history of the band?
We formed the band in early 2012. We have been playing together as people for half our lives but 3 years ago we decided to get together the both of us (“this time is for real”) and write some songs. It all happened very naturally and after our first show went so well, and people really dug our sound, we couldn’t help but to keep writing music and playing shows.

3-  How could you describe your sound?
It’s the product of our background as people and as musicians of course. I’d say it’s pretty fresh while still paying homage to bands from the past. We definitely draw from different styles. There’s the very prominent 70s heavy metal sound, with some latin influence thrown in there and some improvisational elements too. Cave of Swimmers photoshoot at Honor Roll for press kit and album covers.

4- What are the band’s main musical influences?
All the bands you’re thinking of! Haha

5-  How is the feedback for your new album being?
A lot of people have told me it’s their favorite so far. It’s been really humbling to see how our old fans (from the debut album) get down to our new songs. We’ve also earned a lot of new fans that are getting into the band now and see us as a brand new group without really knowing our first album. Now they have an opportunity to check out our 2 album catalog haha. But yeah, feedback has been amazing.

6- And are your personally satisfied with the final outcome?
Yes, very much so. The album really sounds killing. Dana Salminen (tracking engineer) and Ian Mercel (mixing and mastering) worked so hard with us to get these crazy songs sounding incredible. We’re so lucky to work with them!

7-  How could you describe this opus in just 3 words?
PUSH PULL BANG!

8- How has the production process been for your new release been?
We spent a bit more time pre producing and producing this album than our first. We made sure the arrangements were really tight, that all the elements where in harmony with each other.

9- And how do you use to work on the songwriting?
CAVE OF SWIMMERS_REFLECTION_COVERWe just start jamming and arranging up the song as we go. Then we just run it a million times to get confortable with it and that’s basically it. After that we throw ideas around for the lyrics and G really shapes those according to his vocal range; so words come out sounding natural and not forced.

10 – Finally, what are you near-future plans?
Touring this summer! We’re finishing booking shows for August.

10-  That’s all from our side, thanks again for taking your time to answer our questions. If you now want to add some final words; feel free to do it.
Thanks for having us!
