– Hello, thanks you so much for answering to our interivew. What’s currently keeping NECRODEATH busy?

GL: Thanks to you! We’re always busy…specially after a new album…In these months we’re often in tour for some gigs around Italy and the last November we’ve finish a East European tour in nice places never seen before.

– First of all, I would like you to start explaining a bit why did the band disbanded in 1990 and what prompted your comeback over 10 years later.

Peso: THE BAND SPLIT IN 1990 AND AFTER ONE YEAR I HAD FOUNDED SADIST… I VE PALED WITH THEM TIL 1996…THEN CLAUDO THE ORIGIANL NECRODEATH MEMEBR COME TO CALL ME TO REUNION THE NECRO BAND…AND IN 1998 WE WERE BACK AGAIN…. AFTER ONE YEAR WNET OUT MATER OF ALL EVIL…AND FROM THAT MOMENT WE COMPOUSE SEVERAL ALBUM TIL TODAY!!!

– Peso, in the meanwhile you formed SADIST. Were the other members of NECRODEATH involved in any other musical projects as well? And what did SADIST provided you back then?

PESO- YES I VE PLAYED TIL DECEMBER 1996 RECODING TWO GREAT ALBUM…ABOVE THE LIGHT AND TRIBE.. THE OLD NECRODEATH MEMBERS I DNT KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE DONE EXPECT CLAUDIO OF COURSE THAT I STILL TODAY I SEE ALMOST EVERY WEEK.

– When you started there weren’t that many extreme bands as you in Italy. Were your beginnings easy?

Peso:  No..the beginning was very difficult speccially play live… in italy there was 3 really aggressive band at that time….bulldozer, schizo and us… 😉

– Since you came back you guys haven’t stopped at all, specially after «100% Hell» you’ve had a hectic studio activity. After all these years; what keeps you motivated?

GL: The motive is the same, the passion for this music and the friendship that during these years has joint our life. For us it’s easy now to think in the same direction and thanks to the last line-up the ideas, the decisions and all that there is around a band is much more agile. If after 20 years we are here again it’s a prove that perseverance pays!

– Also since you came back, you’ve been releasing all your works with Scarlet Records. Considering that 10-years-hiatus; how did everything start with this label? And after so many albums with them, I guess you are happy with this cooperation?

GL: Yes, when Necrodeath are come back in ’90 a young Italian label (Scarlet Records) have give a new chance for the reunion album «Mater of all evil» and now after many years they believe again in us. We’re happy for this collaboration, specially because they give us totally freedom for the composition and the ideas, that’s very important for a musician because if you’re satisfied of your music nothing else matter!

– This has also been the case of your latest «Idiosyncrasy». The first thing that caught my attetion off it was the cover artwork, clearly inspired by Tarantino’s «Reservoir Dogs» (as well as the promo pictures). Why in how did you decide to do this? Does it fit with the lyrics on this CD?

GL: Yes of course…the music and the image of Idiosyncrasy sure talking the same language, but one is independent respect the other…I mean, that if the song talking about the eternal fight between good and evil, also in the «Reservoir dogs» there are lots of conflicts inside the story, but we’ve write the song don’t thinking about the look or the final booklet. For sure for us be in the clothes of the «Reservoir dogs» has been a tribute of Tarantino that we adore, and this new release has been perfect for this sort of «tribute». Probably for us has been the first time we’re dressed in elegant clothes…and our mothers are still thanking Tarantino!

– I read the 7 tracks on «Idiosyncrasy» is one single song separated in 7 parts. How did you come up with this idea?

GL: Idiosyncrasy it’s a only one song created to be a long trip…I suggest you listen it completely in only one breath leaving you take, otherwise you can listen different parts and skipping in 7 sections of that song. That decision to divide Idiosyncrasy is born because we want give at the listener the possibility to chose two kind of listen, but I prefer drink it in only one shot!

– And did this change the songwriting process?

GL: Absolutely not, when Idiosyncrasy it’s been composed the idea has been to have an only one song and this final result it’s that you can listen in this work. In fact we’ve recorded the song thinking that in the end you can listen one song and nothin else. Only after the mixing process we have decided to divide it in seven parts, but i repeat it’s an only one song.

– Due to this single songs can’t really stand by their own, I mean, you have to listen to the entire album to fully appreciate it. Do you think this has been accepted by all your fans?

GL: Exactly! And also it’s hard to taken a song for a videoclip…but we play extreme music and we don’t care about promotional rules or stuff like that…we wanna give at our listener the possibility to enter in our fuckin world and I’m sure that the metalheads can be agree with our decision…if you liked our past albums, Idiosyncrasy is the icing on the cake!

– Suming it up, this is, once more, a superb album. In fact you’ve been during your whole career in a really high level. Is it easy to keep this? Or just something spontaneous?

PIER: We’re happy that you think so, we are very proud of this album. Of course we put all our enercy in Necrodeath music, we always try to do our best , in the recording studio and in the stage. But every composition is spontaneus for us. We just start to play or to elaborate a starting idea. The “one song2 album was not planned in the beginning.

– Is also an original album by a classic band, still keeping your classic essence. Is it a challenge to get this? Do you think this is
something important for a band with such a vast career behind its back?

PIER: In my opinion this the best goal, to produce something fresh and original keeping out trademark.

– In the last years you have filmed some clips; any plans for a video for any song on the new album? Could be interesting shooting something with the «Reservoir Dog’s image».

GL: As I say before, will be very hard make a videoclip for this new release…now we don’t have in mind videos for Idyosincrasy, but….never say never!

– Peso, you also were part of the innovative band RAZA DE ODIO, which had a really shocking style, mixing extreme Metal with some Flamenco influences. I would like you to tell us a bit how did the idea of forming a band like that arise, as well as why the band is dissolved.

Peso THE IDEAS BORN FROM ME AND PACO…MY OLD SCHOOL DAY FRIEND ..HE IS INTO FLAMENCO AND KNOW VERY WELL ALL ABOUT ANDALUCIA AND IS TRADITION… FROM HIM I VE LEARN TO APPRECIATED BAND LIKE BARBERIA DER SUL..CHICO OKANA.KETAMA,MARTIRE DEL COMPAS..ETC…. TOGHER WE HAVE START TO COMPOUSE THIS MIX BETWEN EXTREME METAL AND FLAMENCO..AND THEN WE RECORDED THE ALBUM RAZA DE ODIO TOGHER WITH AOTHER FIRNED OF OUR AREA…THEN I DIDNT CONTINUE TO PLAY LIVE AFTER THE FIRST GIGS CAUSE I WAS TOO BUSY WITH NECRODEATH AND THEY HAVE CONTINUE WITH ANOTHER DRUMMER BUT IS A NEW OF THESE DAYS THEY HAVE UNFROTUNALLY SPLIT

– A couple of years ago you «celebrated» your 25th anniversary as a band. Looking a bit to your past; how has the band evolved since you started? What has change in you both as artists and individuals?

PESO RIGHT NOW I GUESS WE ARE ABLE TO PLAY IN APROFESSIONAL WAY…. BUT THE SPIRTI AND THE PASSION IS THE SAME OF 25 YEARS AGO

– The last time we could see you guys in Spain was some years ago, at Martohell festival. What are your memories of that show?

PIER: I remember a great stage and organization. There were a lot of people and they enjoyed our playing, so of course nice to remember. We also enjoyed a lot of sangria and other tipical spanish foods J

– With this album you have already played at some Eastern Europe countries. How has everyhing been? How have the new tunes been accepted live?

PIER: All gigs gone well. We were surprised because it’s difficult for our albums to be distribuited in that countries, but anyway many people known our music. Of course it is the power of internet, youtube etc. We played just little parts of the newest album , it was released just about 10 days before the tour start, but fortunally people enjoyed them.

– And finally, what are your near-future plans? What’s left for you to get with NECRODEATH?

PIER: At the moments we have a lot of gigs planned for 2012, expecially in Italy. Than we will start to compose new staff. We have some new ideas but we need to work on that to know exactly what we are writing J

– That has been everything from my side; thanks again for your time. If you want to add some final words; last lines are all yours.

PIER: Thanks a lot for this interview. We hope to came to Spain soon for some great gigs. Lets’ see on the stage!
