– Hello and thanks for your time. To start, could you plase introduce a bit the band? When and why was it formed it, etc.

Hello, I am Rob and I play drums, Will plays guitar and Rich plays bass.

K2B was formed in 1994 because we were tired of what we were hearing and decided to create our own soundtrack for our dangerous lives. We decided to go instrumental because all the vocals we heard at that time sounded lame.

«Others» disagreed and forced a singer upon us. We got rid of the singer and parted ways with «the others».

– Why «Karma to Burn»?

We like this name as it has an ironic ring to our ears, plus it’s kinda hard to say fast.

– And what are your main musical influences?

Me personally at this moment, Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Dag Nasty.

We all relish listening to Classic Rock as well.

– Your new «V» will come out in a few weeks, what are your expectations? Are you happy with the final result?

I expect some will like it and some will not. We are happy with what came about and it is a Karma To Burn record.

We did things a bit different but in the end it is K2B and that’s what matters to us. We kicked it out kinda quick, but it is fitting as we have been hell bent on being busy.

– And what could you say your fans can expect to hear in the album?

Three songs with vocals, five instrumental songs and one cover song. It’s rock.

– You guys broke up some years ago to come back with your previous «Appalachian Incantation». Did the scene change during those years? How did you feel like recording a new album once more for KARMA TO BURN?

I guess the scene has changed a bit but people who like rock seem to always like rock. The scene seems quite the same only a bit bigger, you can’t ask for much more than that. Recording the new record felt quite natural. It felt like we were doing exactly what we were supposed to be doing.

– So, has been easier or different recording this «V» compared to «Appalachian Incantation»?

It was a bit more difficult at the beginning, as opposed to recording AI as we were working more with Daniel.

Once we stripped it back down to Will, Rich and myself it was much the same.

– We could say you are an instrumental band so basically: why? Is easier for you working on instrumental songs?

We are an instrumental band because that’s what works for us. if we were to add vocals to our music just for the sake of having vocals, it would be wrong and awkward. We did two original songs with vocals for this record and that was enough because it worked. Any more, and it would have not worked for us.

– Anyway, in «V» we can find Daniel Davies once more. Why did you think of him for the vocals in this album and your previous one?

We liked his style and he happen to be living in the same house so he was easy to track down.

– When composing those tracks, did you already know you wanted to have vocals on them?

We composed those tracks with vocals in mind.

– It seems you have less instrumental songs with each album, will we ever see a non-instrumental album from you?

You never know. We would like to do a record with different singers for different songs. We have it all worked out on paper but it’s hard to schedule it when studio time arrives, everyone is busy on tour.

– «V» has been produced at the Dave Grohl’s studios, Studio 606 by John Lousteau. How was this process like? Are you happy with the work done?

It was a blast working with Lou. He immediately grasped what we were going for and added good ideas to the process.

We are happy with what we got on V.

– Also since your previous record are working with Napalm Records, how’s being this cooperation like in comparison to your previous label?

Well, I believe this is the first time in our history that two record have been recorded for the same label, I will leave it at that.

– It seems the Stoner scene has been growing lately. What’s your opinion on the current Stoner scene?

I will say the fans are out of this world nice and a true pleasure to be around. We have made so many new friends since we got back together and our family is growing.

– I saw you will soon do a small tour around Europe but, what about US dates?

We are currently finishing up a three month European tour. We will have eight days off then do a thre week US tour, then back to EU for about a week.

– And finally, what are your near-future plans?

On the road, that’s pretty much it.

– That’s all. If you would like to add some final words, last lines are yours. Thanks once more for taking the time.

You are most certainly welcome.

Put the coffee on, it’s gonna be a long night.
