Anders – Hi and thanks yourself , we are currently working on 7″ single its goanna be damn good

Gustav – hey hey
– I guess some people won’t know you yet as you are a relatively new band so, could you please introduce the band to all of them? Let’s say some background story of BLOOD MORTIZED.
Anders – Going for the speed version of our background , We started out in 2007 Benny Moberg , Mattias Parkkila , and med ,we did some demos and got a recorded deal after 4 moths , Mattias Borgh joins and we record our first Album. Benny left the band in 2010 , we record our EP «Bestial» and get a record deal on Chaos Records. Gustav Myrin joins in on second Guitar and we start working on our new album «The key to a black heart».Then Mattias Söderlund join in on Bas , we get a record del on FDA Rekotz , so now we have 2. We start recording The key to a black heart, FDA is releasing our new album on CD and Chaos records going for the Vinyl and cassette. and no we are here 🙂
– You have just released your sophomore album, “The Key to a Black Heart”. How is its feedback being so far?
Anders – The feedback has been damn great so far , most good reviews on it , feels damn nice 🙂
Gustav – yeah the feedback has been great, so we are happy
– I see you are handling part of the promotion for this album so just wondering how is the promotion thing going with Chaos Records, your current label.
Anders – As I said we have 2 labels , Chaos and FDA , FDA has just realest our CD and the promoting has be pretty good , but we like to promote our self also i think its cool . Chaos has not started promoting yet , they are releasing our Vinyl and cassette in July so they goanna start soon
Gustav – yes, we all promote it together with Chaos and FDA.
– On this new opus you have included two songs off your “Bestial” EP: “Shadow of the Quarter Sun” and “Rekviem”. Due to this I would like to know when did you start writing this new effort.
Anders – We started 3 years ago on and off , some of the songs I wrote like 3 years ago
the title track is the first song I wrote for this album , and the last one is Doomsday Architect.
I have written almost all riffs Gustav have made some and Borgh some , Me and Borgh have arrange almost every song.
– And how did the whole songwriting process go? Gustav, considering you joined the band later, did you have any input in the writing?
Anders – When i write songs im at home playing thru Cubase doing some demos that i show for the guys. The we listen and change some and listen and change some , or we are happy with the first result
Gustav – yeah i had some input, i made some riffs here and there. And i layed down my solos on the tracks. Hopefully i can have more of an impact on the Next recording. Oh oh i made one song….. on the vinyl “Burn and die”. hehehe
– Production I must admit sounds great, filthy and raw. I read “The Key to a Black Heart” Is a 0 budget album so, how was the production process for it?
Anders – Mattias Borgh have an own studio that we record in , so we don’t have to pay money for studio time , Mattias also mix and Master the albums in his studio so also there we don’t have to pay allot of money
– Musically, how do you think has your evolution been from “Blood Mortized” to “The Key to a Black Heart”?
Anders – The Evolution from Blood Mortized till now is pretty Big , considering that Benny did almost write that whole album I only did 4 song on that one , the evolution from the Bestial EP is not big , the EP was like a teaser for things to come , so i would say not so much on that one
Gustav – both albums are great and i think we can progess even more to the Next one.
– And how could you describe your new record in just 3 words?
Anders – Brutal as Hell!
Gustav – Swedish death metal
– The artwork has been crafted by Thomas Kynst, who also did the artwork for your previous EP. What made you go back to him? And what does the cover artwork represent? Is Lemmy the guy on the cover or just my perception?
Anders – We wanted to have the same still as the EP on the Key album so we did ask Kynst to do it ones again. We think his really great to paint Brutal covers! Yes its Lemmy all right , just like on our Cassette cover for «Bestial» Lemmy apers on that one to , on that one he has chop of his head and are holding it in his hand , now we are bringing him back from the dead 🙂 in tow different covers one for the CD and another for the Vinyl
– Both of you played together in a band named PATHALOG back in the 90’s; have you been in contact throughout all these years?
Anders – yes we been in touch in all this years but not as often as now , I love having Gustav on the team!
Gustav – yeah we stayed in touch and When Anders asked me to join i did not think twice. Its great to be back on the death metal scene.
– And Anders, you also played in AMON AMARTH and left the band after the debut album hit the street. Did you ever imagine back then the band would become such big?
Anders – No I would never hade thought that they where going to be that big as they are now , its cool that they have , and its cool to have been a part of the band
– Your music is old school Death Metal at the good old Swedish vein. Now it seems to be an urge for this kind of Death Metal; have you noticed this is a band?
Anders – But I don’t think we sound that Swedish as folk says , okay some riffs here and there but not entirely , we have a lot of Bolt thrower soundings also , and also an own still. But if you mean if we have noticed that other bands is playing Old School DM , yes its like a bomb , almost every one is doing it right now
Gustav – this is they way we know how to play DM, we just picked up where we left in the early 90s
– For instance only in Sweden we can find several bands taking this music style back. Does this competence make things harder for a band like you or maybe the opposite, as it seems people is really interested in this kind of music?
Anders – I don’t care , and are not competing whit other bands. We just play the thing we like to play that’s it hahaha
Gustav – well death metal is a Beautiful thing, we support every one, like one big happy family
– Finally, what the near-future plans are for BLOOD MORTIZED?
Anders – Recording a Vinyl Single , and doing a small German tour next year and hopefully some small gigs in Sweden whit Paganizer!
Gustav – yeah, a tour would be great.
