– Hello, thanks for your time. What are you currently up to?

We are just trying to spread the Word of Generation Kill, and show the world our álbum.

– First of all, could you please make some history of GENERATION KILL?

Generation Kill was formed by Rob Dukes and myself. ( Rob Moschetti) Dukes is the current frontman of Exodus and my past credts are M.O.D.

and PRO-PAIN. We decided to form a new band a few years ago and now the world gets to hear it.

– How did you come up with the band’s name? What does it represent?

It came from a book that Dukes read, and it made a strong impression on him. It has to do with war, and so does our álbum..The harshness of war.

– And what are the band’s main musical influences? As you actually mix many different styles.

My own influences are Black Sabbath and Metallica, but there are four other guys in the band, and everyone has their own taste and style that they bring to the band. That is what gives us a diverse sound.

Multiple songwriters and personalities.

– What were your expectations or your goals were you formed the band?

The only goal we had was to be as honest as posible. We didn’t want to try and fit in to what is currently going on in metal. We had to feed our own creative hunger and hope that the public accepts it.

– You have recently released your latest «Red, White and Blood». How’s going its feedback so far?

So far so good. I think people understand what it is, and its just a cool álbum that takes you on a musical journey of sorts. Ups and downs like a movie, not just one mood or flavor.

– As I said before, we could say your trademark is mixing elements from different music styles. Did you now since the beginning how do you wanted to sound?

We just wanted to try something different from our other bands, while still maintaining a heavy vibe. I think that heaviness can be conveyed in other ways than speed or screaming constantly. We do have speed and screaming, but ther is much more to this álbum than that.

– Due to this, each song has its very own identity. Is this something easy to keep during an entire album?

You have to treat each song like an individual thing and give it the attention it deserves before moving on to another song. As the producer of the álbum l had to make sure that it didn’t sound repetative but also Works within the other songs. To me the álbum is one long song. I want people to listen to the whole thing to get the full experience.

– And because of this, do you think is easier being a copycat off different genres or, othwerwise, is easier creating from these kind of mixes your very own style?

We have created our own style by incorperating our influences, but not letting them dominate the song or álbum. We dont want to be copycats.

– Anyway, how could you describe your sound to all those who haven’t heard you yet?

Heavy,dark, diverse Metal…

– In «Red, White and Blood» you have included a cover for NIN’s «Wish». I would like you to tell us a bit about it: how did you come up with the idea, what changes have you done to this track, why this concrete song, etc.

It was just something that Dukes suggested for our live show, because he love N.I.N. we decided to include it on the álbum. Nothing more than being a fan of Trents’ work.

– How was the songwriting process for this effort? Is your sound a spontaneous effort?

Certain songs were very spontanious (Hate, Red White and blood,) but others like self medicating or feast for the wolves, we took our time to write. Another reason why the álbum is diverse.

– And what are some of the lyrical ideas covered in the album? I guess they are linked to the cover artwork?

The harshness of war and how it affects the soldier in war and when he returns home. How do you stop being a killing machine when you return home? The war doesn’t end for a soldier when he comes home.

– We could say you are an “all-star band”. This terms tends to be a double-edged sword. Do you think this works more as a benefit for the band or the opposite?

Dukes name sparks interest, but if the band sucks, his name can only carry you so far. The work has to speak for you, not the reputation of the players.

– After playing in different bands; what does GENERATION KILL provide you? As it seems like there’s much creativity going on.

It is a creative outlet that lets us express ourselves, regardless of the public reaction. Of coarse we hope people like it, but we cant let the public determine our musical direction.

– And finally, what are your near-future plans?

To tour the world and prove ourselves to the public, one fan at a time.

– That’s all, thanks again for your time. If you now want to add some final thoughts, take the last lines.

Thank you for showing an interest in our band, and we hope to see you live in concert where we will blow you away.
