1- First off, could you make some history of the band?
Cretus is a group that has been around for many years in the United States.  The «band» is simply a new form of outreach that will enable us to spread our message to people that are seeking truth about free will, the consciousness, and our role in the universe. This «band» lets us reach a potential candidate base on a much wider scale than in the past.  Traditionally we have been very selective with sharing the knowledge that has been entrusted with us, but the community feels it’s important, especially with the current state of things, to take a much more aggressive approach to spreading these known truths.

2- What are you guys currently up to?
We’ve been elected by the community to work on this extended outreach program (the «band»).  Traditionally Cretus hasn’t really focused on reaching out to the public, however, we’ve recently gone so far as to establish a new digital presence, launching a web site (www.FollowCretus.com) with an online community, resource center, and social media, where people can learn more about us. In addition to our video coming out on August 31, and our EP, Dux Mea Lux, coming out on September 4, we are currently locking dates for a global outreach program to help promote our message.

3- How could you describe your sound?
When the community gave us this task to create a «band» we just did what came naturally. We’ve been fairly isolated from most modern influences for many years, but we all grew up listening to rock and roll and metal. Others have described our music as, «Hard-hitting thrash metal at its core; mathematically-precise riffs, dive-bombing guitar solos, and thundering drums that pummel the listener.» Does that work for your purposes of description?

4- What are the band’s main musical influences?
The sounds of the heavens, stars in particular. The natural world is one large symphony playing out. Close your eyes and spend a few minutes focusing on the wind rushing over you and flowing through the trees.  It’s also equally important to note philosophical influences and people we respect; Michio Kaku, John Searle, James Frederick Ferrier, Heraclitus, and others that seek truth.

5- How is the feedback for your new album being?
The music, band, and album have been, in many respects, a great success so far.  Obviously the music has only been heard on a limited scale because the album won’t be released publicly until September 4, but those who have listened have reacted as we believed they would and we have gained many followers. And that is good.

6- And are your personally satisfied with the final outcome?
If Cretus, collectively, were not satisfied with the final outcome, we would not be able to discuss any of this right now.  What’s most important from our community’s perspective is creating something that a listener is able to connect with, something that is not forced. We trust those who really hear it will understand it truly and use the knowledge the right way.

7- How could you describe this opus in just 3 words?
Programmed Cell Death.  In multicellular organisms, cells that are no longer needed or are a threat to the organism are destroyed by a tightly regulated cell suicide process known as programmed cell death, or apoptosis.  Our goal is for people to realize the message and be born again into an enlightenment that will bring them closer to understanding true nature.

8- How has the production process for your new release been?
We’ve been misunderstood and our words taken out of context, so we are very hesitant to whom we speak with about this program, but we have found partners to handle business dealings that understand our need for discretion and privacy.

9- And how do you use to work on the songwriting?
The musicians in the group are well learned in their craft and the instrumental songwriting came quick and naturally. The words came from within, but the community spent a great deal of time and effort on collective introspection and analysis to make sure we were delivering our message the right way.  We threw out many versions of the lyrics before we were able to put together what we have.  It was important for us to realize that we are really only offering people a path to the gateway, and it would be irresponsible to shock people into a new way of thinking all at once.  People can already be pretty dismissive of our culture because they just think we’re a bunch of pagans living in the woods and wearing weird costumes, but if they really listen to the message and look for the truth, they will understand.

10 – Finally, what are you near-future plans?
After the album and music video come out, we intend to travel the world to spread the message and connect with as many people as possible. Cretus will guide us as we travel on this journey. What will happen has already been put in place.

11- That’s all from our side, thanks again for taking your time to answer our questions. If you now want to add some final words; feel free to do it.
Everything that can be said is already known.  Look within to remember.
