15 years of Queens of Steel: Oskar Jacobsson

-We Queens of Steel have been annoying people for 15 years now. During these years a lot of albums have been released. What albums do you specially remember or are your favourites of these last 15 years? Those you have pretty much worn.
I guess these babies are some of my favourites from the last 15 years.
Hällas – Excerpts of a future past
Horisont – About time
Night – Raft of the world
Nifelheim – Envoy of Lucifer
Nosferatu – Returning to the slaughter
Trial – Vessel
Traveler – Traveler
Opeth – Ghost Reveries
Witchgrave – Witchgrave

-Even some new bands have born. Which ones are your favourites?
So many good new bands have popped up, but Hällas & Traveler have something special for sure

-And the split up you regret the most?
In Solitude had more goods to deliver. I’d also like our dear friends in The Scams back in business,

-All of us tend to attend gigs, festivals… During 15 years we’ve spent a lot of time in airports, trains, cars. What is the show or festival you recall with special affection?
Our travel to Japan to play at the Japanese Assault fest was truly a highlight. Spending three drunk nights with the boys in Golden gai, Tokyo, to follow up with 2 shows tops the list.

-They are a lot of years if you think about it. Which would be your most memorable moment(s)? A milestone or achievement, on a personal and/or musical level.
Basically to form and build Ambush from scratch along with my best friends, and everything we’ve done from there has been a true inspiration. All of the guys in the band have grown from drunk idiots into drunk professionals. Lovely milestone!

-Everything evolves (involutes sometimes) with time, so does the Metal «community». What do you believe has been the biggest change the Metal scene has experience or is experiencing during this time? For the better or for the worse. Because if we stop and think about it, not even Spotify existed 15 years ago!
The metal scene hasn’t changed much on the bigger level. Rob Halford is just 15 years older.
On the other side, we’ve seen many young new bands that are hellbent to steal the show as the legends slowly fade out.

-Looking to the future, what would be the best possible scenario for you if you think about the next 15 years?
Us Festival May 29th 2023. 500 000 people of the new century dressed in denim and leather!
