1- Hello, thanks for answering to our questions. What are you guys currently up to?

Rehearsing for some future gigs. We’ll start writing new songs in the next few weeks also. We finally got the band complete so we’re thrilled. We have a new guitar player and a new bass player as well.

2- First off, could you make some history of the band?

It started all back in 1989, I wanted to play deathmetal in a band so I asked some of my friends at the time to start a band and so we did. We had some line-up changes in the beginning like our vocalist leaving prior to the recording of our split with Mourning in 1990. We had no backup so I did the vocals on that recording. We tried another vocalist in 1993 but that didn’t work out either. So back in 1994 when we recorded our debut I did the vocals again and kept doing that eversince. Misha our drummer was not in the band at that time anymore but he wanted to help us out so he did the recordings as a guest member. Then we found a new drummer and did two albums, «horrible within» in 1995 and «demonic fertilizer» in 1997……………………….then in 2010 the spark got ignited again. We released two split 7″‘s on Dark Descent Records and the logical next step was to release a new full length. So Misha and I started writing new songs but we weren’t able to find new bandmembers in time for recording so we did it all ourselves, we’re very pleased the way it turned out.

3- How could you describe your sound?

Raw, heavy, in your face, at least that is what we tried to achieve. We have a lot more mids in the guitarsound sound than on our previous albums.

4- What are the band’s main musical influences?

We were all big Massacre fans at the time so that was our biggest influence, although I think we never really sounded like Massacre. We got our inspiration from a lot of bands that were around back in the day. Sodom, Obituary, Asphyx to name a few. I listened to a lot of music between 1997 and 2014 so it’s obvious I got more inspiration from more bands, but I try to keep it as much Eternal Solstice as I can. Now with the new bandmembers and their influences we shall see how the style develops but it will be death-metal for sure.

5- How is the feedback for your new album being?

People who have heard the album liked it very much. They call it Eternal Solstice 3.0 hehehehe !!!

6- And are your personally satisfied with the final outcome?

Hell yes !!! Both Misha and I are very happy with the result This is the first Eternal Solstice album we listened to over and over again after recording. It all comes together with this album.

7- How could you describe this opus in just 3 words?

Best Eternal Solstice

8- How has the production process for your new release been?

Good, it took some time ‘cause we live a few hours from each other, but with the help of the internet it worked out well.

9- And how do you use to work on the songwriting?

We like to jam a lot, record it and throw away the bad parts, arrange the good parts and work around the base. Adding vocal lines later and improvise the solos. Nice thing when you jam, you come up with ideas you never thought you had ‘m in you.

10 – Finally, what are you near-future plans?

Rehearsing the setlist, do some gigs to support the new album and start writing new songs with the new guys.

11- That’s all from our side, thanks again for taking your time to answer our questions. If you now want to add some final words; feel free to do it.

Thanks for the interview, check us on the internet and on stage !!!
